Posted by Craig on June 29th, 2013

Cave won the toss and put Ovington into bat. It looked a good decision at 28 for 3 with James Windeatt (2 for 30) and Oliver Brett (2 for 19), but then Steels joined B. Morrison (45) and the pair added 105 for the 4th wicket. Steels completed his century off the final ball of the innings as Ovington finished on 187 for 6. In reply Cave found the going hard and only Rob Page (23) and Simon Cooke (22) offered resistance as they were bowled out for 81 in 25 overs. N. Metcalfe (4 for 19) and D. Brummitt (3 for 15) were the chief destroyers. Barry Steels (2 for 25) completed a good all around display with 2 catches.
